For glass defect repair, corian and acrylic solid surface finishing. Precisely shaped pyramids wear away continually exposing fresh abrasive. Few processing steps, higher gloss level, effective surface leveling. Little water, easy touchup.
Trizact 466LA is the clear coat spot repair disc that is used by most Automotive manufacturers worldwide. Each disc will last for many repairs because fresh abrasive mineral is exposed as the disc wears. The consistent, surface roughness (low Rz) reduces the polishing time required, and helps prevent quality audit failures. The end result is a cost effective, robust process.
Sanding tips & techniques
1. Use water as a lubricant during sanding. Spray the abrasive disc with water before and after sanding each spot to keep the disc clean and extend its life. Make sure the backup pad is dry when
replacing the disc.
2. Sand in a small circular motion with the pad flat against the surface.
3. Avoid over-sanding. Use a light feathering technique. Keep the sanded area as small as possible.
4. Use extra caution to prevent over sanding when machine sanding near the edges of panels, which are less flexible and typically have thinner coatings. If preferred, these areas can be hand-sanded.
